Jury selection has begun for the trial of a Hardin County man charged with kidnapping a 7-year-old girl in 2021.
According to WKTN, 120 potential jurors were called to make up the 12 person jury for the trial of 57-year-old Charles Castle. Castle is facing 17 charges including aggravated attempted murder, rape, and 6 counts of kidnapping. Law enforcement officials say that Castle allegedly took the 7-year-old from her home in Kenton. The girl was reported missing on November 11th which led to an extensive search by the public and first responders. She was found the next day in an empty home on County Road 180. The trial is expected to last a couple of weeks.
