LIMA, OH (WLIO) - People from all over the region are looking forward to Lima's Star Spangled Spectacular, especially the fireworks show.
Crews from Rozzi began setting up Thursday night's show on Wednesday. A little more than 900 shells are packed into the mortars and secured for the 20-minute synchronized show with the Lima Area Concert Band. They will be shot from just south of Safety City to explode over Faurot Park in a dazzling show. Some shells have been imported from several foreign countries to give more variety.
"It's going to be a very nice, evenly paced show. There's going to be a lot of different colors and effects. A lot of noise obviously they're fireworks so everything goes boom. The finale will be very intense at the end. There will be a lot of different effects from different manufacturers from all around the world, including China, Italy, and Spain," explained Michael Myers, Rozzi Fireworks.
The fireworks are set to begin at 10 p.m. Thursday night. There will be plenty of seating at the bowl in Faurot Park to view them. To see a schedule of activities for Star Spangled Spectacular, you can go to lima4th.com.
