Lima city utility crews were busy Wednesday morning helping residents with frozen pipes.
They received around a half a dozen calls for assistance. As temperatures are expected to be below freezing again, they want people to take precautions. Just by running one faucet in your house with a pencil lead size stream of water can keep your lines from freezing.
Lima Utilities Director Mike Caprella explains, ”If you’ve had issues in the past, I mean it’s the first time it’s been this cold for a while, especially like it’s cold now. Let your water run a little bit. It doesn’t have to run a lot. No more than the size if a lead in a pencil and that will help keep your water from freezing. So, just take that precaution.”
Caprella says if your lines do freeze give their department a call and they will do their best to help you get thawed out.
