A project being spearheaded by the Lima Rotary Club got some extra funding Monday(11/4/19) afternoon. Greater Lima Region presented a check for $250,000 at the Rotary Club meeting.
The money will go toward the amphitheater project, which hopes to revitalize that part of downtown Lima by bringing a green space between Spring Street and Elm Street, and that goal seemed like the perfect fit.
"It fits right in with our strategic goal of supporting key community development initiatives, we want to show people that this is a very livable region, and I think the amphitheater with producing concerts and other events really goes a long way to demonstrating the vitality of the region," said Doug Olsson, President/CEO at Greater Lima Region, Inc.
The project received other big donations from Mercy Health St. Rita's and former county commissioner Alberta Lee back in October.
