ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima man accused of forcing his way into a home in 2022 and assaulting its residents will be representing himself in his trial.

Judge grants Leroy Page's request to represent himself

34-year-old Leroy Page asked not to have public defenders represent him in the trial set for February and any court proceedings prior to trial.

He pleaded not guilty to 8 counts that included felonious assault, kidnapping, failure to comply, and weapons charges.

Page is being held on a half-a-million-dollar bond.

The Allen County Sheriff's detectives say on October 30th, 2022, Page allegedly forced his way into a home while fleeing from police and assaulted its residents for about two hours, then forced them to drive him to another location. Page went on the run and was captured in July in Las Vegas and brought back to Allen County to face charges. He is being held on a half-a-million-dollar bond.
