LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Family YMCA hosted their nationwide 175th Healthy Kids Day.

Healthy Kids Day is the Y's national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. In Lima, many organizations came out to promote their services. This event not only shows what resources are local for families, but what programs the Y has to offer for kids and adults alike. By having a one-stop-shop-like event for families, many Lima residents were able to learn more about what organizations are around them, as well as learning how to keep their kids healthy.

"We want everybody to be healthy, out, being more active, going for walks. And, hopefully this is more of a tie-in for the family part as well. So, we've had lots of younger kids like 4- and 5-year-olds which is really neat to see so hopefully you're setting that good example," says Brian Barhorst, operations director for the Lima Family YMCA.

Many families left with resources and programs to benefit their kids, as well as having a good time together. If you missed out on this event but would like more information on the Y's programs, head over to the YMCA website.
