The last two days of the Lima Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign had to be canceled due to the arctic temperatures and that was a big concern about reaching their $125,000 goal. Thanks to the generosity of others, the kettle campaign collected $128,000 in donations. Salvation Army officials are thankful for all of the support for their mission.

"Kettles support our programs throughout the year. So it's really important that they do well. That we make our goal that helps us to sustain what we do. The after-school programs, the community service things that we do, and food to the hungry. So it really is a big thing for us to make that goal and it's very important," explained Paul Downing, operations manager at the Lima Salvation Army,
