LIMA, Ohio — Holiday lights fans will have plenty to enjoy next week during the annual Shawnee Luminary Night, when more than 5,000 luminaries will line the streets of three Shawnee Township neighborhoods.

Indianbrook, Wildbrook and Timberfield are participating in the event, which will feature glowing luminaries and homes decorated for the “Deck Your Home” contest. Organizers say visitors can expect festive decorations, goodie bags, cookies and appearances from some high-profile holiday guests.

“In addition to that, there will be Santa Claus in Wildbrook too, with a special guest this year,” said committee member Alexandria Orndoff. “We just heard from the North Pole that they’re bringing one of his reindeer to be there with him and Mrs. Claus.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods or monetary donations for the West Ohio Food Bank. Shawnee Luminary Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
