November 14, 2023 Press Release from the Delphos Police Department: The Delphos Police Department received 306 calls for service in the month of October. The following is a partial list of calls handled for the month of October and do not include traffic citations, crashes, ect. 

The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been located or turned in. If you are missing a bicycle, please come to the police department and describe the bicycle you are missing, and we will get it back to you.

On 10-1-2023 officers were sent to the 500 block of N. Main St, for a male with mental issues. Officers located the male who had been making threats to harm himself and others. The male was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation and treatment.

On 10-1-2023 officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Elida Ave, for an adult male in a dispute with his mother.

On 10-1-2023 officers responded to the 600 block of Dayton St, for a Domestic Dispute. Officers met with a male and female who stated they had a verbal argument only.

On 10-2-2023 officers were sent to the 1000 block of Lima Ave, for an intoxicated male who was harassing a female tenant.

On 10-2-2023 officers spoke with a female, in the 200 block of Elida Rd, who reported that someone tried to break in through her storm door.

On 10-2-2023 a male called to report that his mother’s ex-boyfriend was at his residence, and they wanted him to leave. Officers did find a place for the subject to go.

On 10-3-2023 a female called the police department to report that her ex-roommate had given away some of her personal property. The male stated he put her things in storage.

On 10-3-2023 a female called the police department to report being the victim of a scam. The female stated that she sent a large amount of cash to a subject claiming to be from the FBI.

On 10-3-2023 officers were sent to the 1100 block of Elida Ave, for a fight involving to males. Upon arrival officers began gathering information from witnesses and the two males involved. After investigating the incident officers found probable cause to arrest one male, James Martin, of Delphos, for OVI and Disorderly Conduct.

On 10-4-2023 officers were sent to the 200 block of Elida Rd, for a possible prowler in the area. The female caller stated that she believed someone was trying to get in the back door.

On 10-4-2023 two females came to the police department to file a report. The females told officers that they had hired another female to cater their events, but the caterer is now out of business, and they have not been paid back.

On 10-4-2023 officers were sent to the 400 block of W. 4th St, for a loud music complaint.

On 10-5-2023 a female called to report a possible Burglary of her residence. The female said she hadn’t been home in a few days and was told someone broke in.

On 10-5-2023 officers were sent to speak with a male on Skinner St, who reported that he was assaulted. The male just wished to get his property and leave the residence.

On 10-6-2023 officers met with a male in the 600 block of Jennings St, for a Theft report. The homeowner told officers that a minibike was stolen from his porch overnight.

On 10-6-2023 a male came to the police department to file a report. The male told officers that someone was trying to extort money from him on-line claiming they had inappropriate photos of him that they will send to his friends.

On 10-6-2023 a female called to report an unwanted guest at her residence. The subject left prior to officers’ arrival.

On 10-7-2023 a female called the police department requesting a well-being check on her son who has mental issues.

On 10-8-2023 a male called the police department to report that his phone was stolen while he was at work. After tracking the phone to a residence in Van Wert it was determined that the phone was taken by a co-worker by mistake. The phone was returned.

On 10-9-2023 officers were sent to the 500 block of S. Canal St, for a Domestic Dispute. The two parties involved agreed to separate for the night.

On 10-9-2023 officers were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Main St, for a male with mental issues possibly making threatening statements.

 On 10-10-2023 a female called the police department to report that her juvenile daughter had left the house without permission to do so. The juvenile was located a short time later by her parents.

On 10-10-2023 a male called from the 500 block of S. Canal St, to report that someone had stolen his medication.

On 10-11-2023 a female called from the 1300 block of S, Bredeick St, to report seeing two individuals looking in vehicles and acting suspicious.

On 10-12-2023 a male came to the police department to report that someone had gained access to his bank account and was making fraudulent withdrawals.

On 1013-2023 officers met with a female in the 100 block of E. 7th St. The female reported that she believed someone was entering her locked residence, because someone let her dog back inside.

On 10-13-2023 an employee at a business on Elida Rd, called to report that a vehicle was driving recklessly in the parking lot, almost striking other vehicles.

On 10-13-2023 officers were called to the 400 block of S. Franklin St, for a male and female having an altercation. The male half left the residence.

On 10-14-2023 a male called from the 700 block of S. Main St, to report that an intoxicated male walked into his residence by mistake.

On 10-14-2023 an employee at a business on Elida Ave, called the police department after having an irate customer refuse to leave the business.

On 10-15-2023 an employee at a business on W. 5th St, called to report that a juvenile had just come into the business and stole items.

On 10-15-2023 officers responded to the 400 block of Moxie Ln, to investigate a report of a male assaulting a female.

On 10-16-2023 officers met with a male in the 1300 block of N. Main St, who reported his son was acting unruly.

On 10-16-2023 an anonymous caller reported a large active fight involving juveniles in the 400 block of E. Cleveland St. Upon officers’ arrival the juveniles had left the area.

On 10-17-2023 a male and female came to the police department to report a fraud. The female stated that someone had opened a fraudulent account with a cell phone provider using the male’s information.

On 10-17-2023 officers were dispatched to the 800 block of E. 3rd St, for an altercation between a female, her sister, and her mother.

On 10-17-2023 officers met with a female in the 500 block of S. Jefferson St, who reported that she was assaulted by her daughter. Officers arrived and learned that the altercation had taken place outside of Delphos Police Department jurisdiction.

On 10-18-2023 officers were sent to a business on Gressel Dr. for an unwanted guest. Officers arrived and located the male, advising him that he would have to leave.

On 10-18-2023 a female called to report that her ex-boyfriend has been calling. The female stated that there is a no contact order in place, and she does not want the male to call her.

On 10-19-2023 officers met with an employee at a church who stated that they received an email from an unknown subject attempting to scam them out of money.

On 10-19-2023 officers were sent to a residence on Spencerville Rd, to attempt to locate a male threatening to harm himself.

On 10-20-2023 a male called from the 200 block of W. Clime St, stating that someone was in his backyard looking at items on his property.

On 10-20-2023 a female called the police department requesting to file a report on her child’s grandmother for making harassing phone calls after being asked to stop.

On 10-21-2023 a male called the police department to report that another male threatened to pull a handgun on him after a brief altercation.

On 10-22-2023 a male called the police department from the 1000 block of Lima Ave, stating that a neighbor came to his door threatening him with a hammer.

On 10-23-2023 officers were sent to the 100 block of N. Adams St, for a report of a non-active Domestic Violence complaint. Officers arrived and found that the assault had taken place two days prior, but the female wanted to document the incident.

On 10-23-2023 officers were sent to the Old Lincoln Inn for a Domestic Disturbance. A female at the residence stated that the male had left and nothing physical had occurred.

On 10-23-2023 an officer on patrol observed a male, Brennan Rohr, of Delphos, who had an active warrant out of Allen County. Rohr was taken into custody without incident.

On 10-23-2023 officers responded to the 500 block of N. Main St, for a Domestic assault involving an adult male and his mother. Officers found probable cause to arrest the male, Zachary Hickman, for Domestic Violence.

On 10-24-2023 officers were sent to the 200 block of W. Clime St, for an altercation between a male and his mother’s boyfriend.

On 10-24-2023 officers were dispatched to the Old Lincoln Inn for a Domestic Disturbance.

On 10-25-2023 officers spoke with a male in the 900 block of Superior St, who reported that his ex-girlfriend was using his debit card without permission.

On 10-25-2023 a male in the 600 block of S. Clay St, called the police department to report an ongoing issue with someone dumping liquid on his vehicle.

On 10-25-2023 officers were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Clime St, for a Domestic disturbance involving a female and her sister.

On 10-26-2023 a resident in the 800 block of W. Clime St, called the police department to report a suspicious vehicle driving by their residence multiple times shining a spotlight.

On 10-27-2023 a male called the police department to report that an unknown individual had withdrawn money from his bank account at an ATM in Indiana.

On 10-28-2023 officers were sent to the 700 block of N. Main St, for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers found that the altercation was verbal only.

On 10-28-2023 a female called the police department to report that her purse was stolen out of her vehicle after she left her car parked in the 200 block of N. Pierce St.

On 10-29-2023 officers met with a male and his juvenile grandson in the 400 block of N. Canal St. The grandfather reported that his grandson, whom he has custody of, was being unruly, causing a disturbance.

On 10-30-2023 a female called the police department to report that her ex-boyfriend will not stop harassing her and had made a threat to burn her residence down.

On 10-30-2023 a female called the police department to report that her son’s ex-wife is calling her and harassing her after being asked to stop.

On 10-31-2023 an employee at a business on W. 5th St, called the police department to report that an unknown subject came into the store and then left without paying for his items.

On 10-31-2023 officers were advised of a male approaching customers in the parking lot of a business on Elida Ave, trying to sell his EBT card.

On 10-31-2023 officers were made aware of an active warrant out of Van Wert County for Tyree Dewitt of Delphos. Dewitt was located and taken into custody.
