ELIDA, OH (WLIO) - Christmas is just eight days away, but Santa made time to meet some four-legged friends this weekend.
For a donation, people could get their pets photographed with Santa at the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society on Saturday and Sunday. The shelter was also selling raffle tickets and had a bake sale with treats for both people and animals. The money raised will be used to care for all of the animals waiting for homes, helping offset costs from food and supplies to medical treatment for severely injured cats and dogs. For doing their part, owners got to leave with professional-quality Christmas memories.
"I think a lot of people consider their furbabies to be their actual babies, and a lot of people don't offer this kind of service so it's really fun to have and we're really happy to be able to have it again. We haven't done this since before COVID," said Rebekah Wolf, the assistant manager of the SPCA.
The Ohio SPCA & Humane Society still has lowered adoption fees for the rest of this month to try to find a home for as many pets as possible for the holidays.
