ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima man pleaded guilty to charges related to a police standoff in the summer of 2023.
60-year-old Mark Seffernick pleaded guilty to five counts of felonious assault in Allen County Common Pleas Court today. Two have gun specifications, and all five are felonies of the first degree. Ten other counts were dropped as part of a plea deal.
In July 2023, officers were called out to Seffernick's home on Albert Street after he allegedly threatened another man with a gun. Police say Seffernick barricaded himself in his home. While locked inside, he allegedly fired a gun out of the house. The Allen County SWAT team and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were called in. He finally surrendered hours later. Seffernick will be sentenced on May 6th.
