Senator Sherrod Brown attended the groundbreaking of Whirlpool's project to expand its Ottawa Center, pointing to the corporation as an example of putting American workers first.
Brown shared that he has fought on behalf of Whirlpool and other companies in order to crack down on unfair imports of products, as well as stress the importance of keeping jobs in the state of Ohio.
"We continue to work hard to level the playing field," said Brown. "I think I testified to the International Trade Commission on behalf of Whirlpool I think four times now, in cracking down on countries that unfairly import their products to the United States. This company proves that when we stand up to trade cheats and stand up for American workers, we get results."
