Shawnee Township Fire Department acted quickly to clean up a nitric acid spill leaking from a truck earlier on Friday.
SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Shawnee Township Fire Department acted quickly to clean up a nitric acid spill leaking from a truck earlier on Friday.
Firefighters were able to use an agent to neutralize the acid and clean it up before it did any damage to the road.
Just before 10:30 a.m., firefighters were called out to Buckeye and Fort Amanda roads for two pools of acid spilled when the truck started and stopped on the road. The truck driver was able to shut off the leak on Buckeye Road.
Because the spill was on the pavement and was cleaned up quickly, there was no environmental impact.
