American Township firefighters were called to the area near the Sharon Dairy King on west elm street just after two thirty this (monday) morning after someone reported hearing a loud noise.
Firefighters found extensive damage to the building and looked a little further to find a car sitting inside.
It turns out a teen had driven his car through the business.
The Allen County Sheriff's offices says 18-year-old Jonathan Michael Taylor was trapped in his seat and taken to St. Rita's Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
He was northbound on Gloria Avenue when he lost control at the intersection on the South Side of Dairy King. Firefighters say it's likely he would have driven all the way through the building if it weren't for posts and guardrails on the opposite side.
The building is said to be a total loss. Charges could be on the way for Taylor.
