LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - 4th district congressional candidate Tamie Wilson also helped the Allen County Democrats celebrate their new headquarters.
Wilson just recently returned from a trip to the southern border. She says the wall is not working and more needs to be done to stem the number of immigrants crossing the border. She believes that that needs to start in the countries that the immigrants are fleeing from. By helping the countries thrive on their own so people don’t feel the need to flee to the United States. That also includes cracking down on the drug cartels that take advantage of and abuse the people trying to cross the border.
“Due to the cartels, people are having to escape their homes just for safety, just to stay alive. People will pay the cartels to get them over the border. People pay anywhere from 5 to 25 thousand dollars to get across the border. It’s a shame that people trying to come here the right way, legally, by filing the paperwork to get across the border to provide a better life for their families are being limited because of all of the wrongdoers. So we really need to take a comprehensive approach,” says Tamie Wilson, Democratic 4th District Congressional Candidate.
Wilson will be facing 4th District Congressman Jim Jordan in the November election.
