LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A long-running springtime tradition is making a comeback after a short hiatus. The Ottawa River Coalition is bringing back the Good Friday Fish Fry at the Allen County Fairgrounds, aiming to make a big splash with its return.

Organizers say the event is back by popular demand. Proceeds will support various initiatives, including the Ottawa River Cleanup, the Tires to Tires project—where more than 200 tires were removed from the Ottawa River last year—and educational programs focused on the importance of water quality.

“Nothing but rain down the drain,” said Lydia Archambo, executive director of the Ottawa River Coalition. “Our storm drains are huge, sensitive pathways to the water, so we need to make sure that the only thing going down those is rain. Anything else is a pollutant.”

The fish fry will take place Friday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dinners, catered by Old Barn Out Back, are $15 each, with all proceeds benefiting the Ottawa River Coalition. A silent auction and a 50/50 drawing will also return.

The event will be a pay-at-the-door dinner.
