Allen County Commissioners passing the final piece of legislation that will bring a new hotel to the east side of Lima near Interstate 75.
With the approval of a 50% 10-year property tax abatement, a Holiday Inn and Suites will be located on the 2.6-acres of land just east the Applebee’s. This Enterprise Zone agreement is with Lima Partners, LLC who is heading up the new motel project and economic development officials say it’s going to be good for the county.
Cindy Leis with Allen Economic Development Group says, “The reason this project was important to that site, now it is located in Perry Township and currently there is nothing on that site, so it’s getting very little property tax. With a capital investment of the hotel which is anywhere from 11 to 13 million dollars with the 16 full-time jobs, that increase in property value is substantial.”
Construction is expected to begin mid-summer.
