ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Finally, tonight we highlight the finalists for a new recognition at the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce's Small Business of the Year Gala. It's the Above and Beyond Award, sponsored by Tomorrow's Technology Today. Those nominated are:
The founder of Good Food Restaurants, John Heaphy, has a 501(c)3 specifically for charitable donations to local agencies and organizations. They focus on social services for veterans, shelter and services for the homeless, and emergency assistance for families in crisis. They are also involved in many boards and organizations promoting downtown Lima.
Executive director of the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties, Tammie Colon. The board has been an integral part of the community health assessment and community health improvement plan focusing on suicide and alcohol and drug prevention in the three-county area.
Lima regional executive and senior vice president of the State Bank, Andy Farley. The bank has been active in Lima since 2005. The Lima region is small, with one office and 10 employees who volunteer regularly for local non-profits, community boards, and fundraising committees.
The winner will be announced at the Lima Allen County Chamber of Commerce's Gala event on May 1st at the UNOH Event Center.
