The death of a toddler in the City of Delphos has led law enforcement to start a criminal investigation.
According to a release from Delphos Police Chief Mark Slate, officers were called to the 200 block of North Main Street just after midnight on Sunday for an unresponsive child. Upon arrival, police and EMS personnel did find a 21-month-old female unresponsive. She was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed Monday, no results have been released but they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. The investigation is being conducted by Delphos Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff's Office.Â
