The St. Rose Festival makes its return after taking the last two years off because of the pandemic. In 2020, the festival was cancelled just a couple of weeks before it was set to begin. But organizers are glad that they were able to bring it back this year, complete with the live music, games, and of course the festival food that people look forward to. Even though it has been a couple of years, the parish was ready to provide some fun and a great family tradition.
“I was looking around and I saw almost every booth that we had, from food to the ‘Big 6’, to different things, they were families,” says Mary Paton, Chairperson for the St. Rose Festival. “They were families that have been here at St. Rose, that been in the parish, that have been in the school and the kids are coming back. Now we have our kids coming back at 22, 25, bringing their kids back and them volunteering and them working. That’s so beautiful to me.”
The proceeds from the festival go into the general fund to help St. Rose Parish and the school with various needs.
