Lima, OH (WLIO) - Are you looking to give up the cold winter air for some warm sunny beaches this Christmas?
Well, you better be booking those fights now. AAA predicted that the Thanksgiving travel season was going to reach pre-pandemic levels this past weekend and it doesn't look like that it will be slowing down at the end of the year. Last year, they estimated that there would be around 6 million Americans hitting the skies around Christmas and that total could go even higher this year. But travel experts warn that if you haven't booked your flights yet because you are looking for a better deal, they say don't wait.
“With booking flights, it’s always as far in advance as possible. Technically we can book flights 11 months in advance,” says Cindy Nelson of AAA Lima Office. “Different seasons, different destinations, have an approximate window when you are going to find that best price. If they have not booked their travel for Christmas, they are going to start booking it in their next couple of weeks. So definitely get you plans booked early.”
Some of the most popular travel destinations around the holiday include Florida, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.
