Two 18-year-olds have been indicted for the murder of a 17-year-old during a home invasion in June.
Keion Darden and Jaquan Glenn were charged by an Allen County Grand Jury with murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery, all with a firearm specification. Four other teens under the age of 18 were arrested and could be charged as adults for the death of Jaden Halpern.
On June 10th, Lima police officers got a call from a person at 764 West Lane Avenue just before six o'clock for a potential home invasion and shooting. There they found Halpern, who was dead from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Through the initial investigation, the Lima Police Department learned that several people had been involved in an attempted robbery on the home on Lane Avenue, and had forced their way inside. It was revealed during a preliminary hearing that Jaden's father fired the shot that killed Jaden Halpern, trying to stop the intruders from coming into the house. Darden and Glenn will be arraigned probably next week on the new charges.
